Given Sen. Obama's association with Ayers, could Sen. Obama pass an FBI background check to be his own chauffeur?Who is William Ayers? According to the Los Angeles Times, Ayers was a founder of the violent Weather Underground in the 1960s and who helped launch Sen. Obama's political career from the Ayers living room. And according to the New York Times, on September 11, 2001, Ayers said, "'I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
Many on the Right urge that this association makes Sen. Obama unfit to be president. The Left replies that Sen. Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was busy plotting more than a dozen bombings. Enough with the ancient history, already!
Perhaps. But I don't associate with drug dealers, whether their crimes be forty years past or not.

I suspect Obama could pass a background check. However, he'd probably have to come completely clean about the extent of his relationship with Ayers to do so, and he's never done that with the American public.
I think there are serious concerns about why Ayers (an apparently unrepentant terrorist) has been so well-funded and appears to have become a bit of a power broker in the Chicagoland area.
However, the election is not a referendum on Ayers. It's on Obama, who (for the most part) seems to have passed the smell test for a majority of American voters.
McCain's campaign has shown flashes of brilliance, but has been typified by lurches and missteps. Barring some huge unforseen event between now and the 4th, I think his only chance is the one message that his advertising seems to be offering now: "Does a center-right country really want to be ruled with all 3 branches of government on the far left?"
My sense is that McCain could possibly squeak this out with such a message delivered forcefully enough between now and the election....but, if not, Obama may well win in a landslide (spelled "m-a-n-d-a-t-e"), leading to a very quick slide toward socialist policies in many areas.
Of course, we could also be surprised...and he could get up there, grow up real fast, and realize that most true national governance must, of necessity, come from the middle. But how likely is that, given his background and personal leanings, plus the activist agendas of Reid and Pelosi?
For all his slick appeal, he IS young and inexperienced...and it seems likely that we're in for a bumpy ride.
Ayer is an admitted communist; that is my real concern. The politicians and media have concentrated the public's dissatisfaction on the Bush administration; the Democratic legislature has flown under the radar. If Obama's coat tails result in a super majority in the legislature, we are headed toward communism which historically ends up totalitarianism. Since so many people are so obsessive about electing Obama president, I am asking that, regardless of their choice for president, they vote Republican for every legislative office in this election and the next.
look at this site. I think BHO would have a hard time getting any clearance.
